Key Skills, Qualifications and Client Requirements

  • Please note, to apply for this post you must be registered with the GMC and on the performers list.

     

    Main duties of the job

  • The post holder will make themselves available to undertake a variety of duties including surgery consultation, telephone consultations and queries, visiting patients at home, checking, and signing repeat prescriptions and dealing with queries and clinical paperwork. 

  • Making professional autonomous decisions about presenting problems whether self-referred or referred from other health care workers within the organisation

  • Assessing the health care needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problem

  • Screening patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness. Developing care plans for health in consultation with patients in line with current practice disease management protocols

    Requirements:

  • Full GMC registration with a license to practice.

  • MRCGP (or equivalent) qualification.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Strong clinical and diagnostic skills.

  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
