Mental Health during COVID-19
We understand that this is an uncertain and worrying time.
It is really important that you look after your mental health at this time. We are still here if you have any specific concerns and if so, please book a telephone appointment to discuss them
The advice on Coronavirus may mean that you spend more time alone or in isolation, and so we want you to take extra care with your mental health and wellbeing during this time. Here are some simple things you can do to look after your mental health:
Stay connected and maintain your social networks. Reach out to friends, family, and us if you need
Pay attention to your own needs and feelings. It’s important to keep a good routine of waking up and sleeping times. Exercise regularly and eat healthy food. Engage in healthy activities that you enjoy and find relaxing.
Don’t spend too long each day looking at Coronavirus updates. Set yourself a time or a couple of times each day to read/watch updates and review practical guidance from trusted sources. Avoid listening to or following rumours that make you feel uncomfortable.
Minimise watching, reading or listening to news that causes you to feel anxious or uncomfortable beyond what is necessary.
If you receive regular support for your mental health, check in with your provider to see how this will be continuing.
If you are feeling low in mood or anxious, you can refer yourself to talking therapy http://cnwltalkingtherapies.org.uk/refer-yourself
If you concerned about your mood and having any thoughts of harming yourself. Please either Call the practice as an emergency or the crisis team 0800 0234 650. You can also use our priority booking via ASKNHS here
