As we head into the colder months, Premier Medical Centre is getting ready for this year’s seasonal vaccination programme.
Vaccination remains one of the best ways to protect yourself and those around you from serious respiratory illness. Depending on your age, health and individual circumstances, you may be eligible for a flu, COVID-19, Pneumonia, and/or RSV vaccination this season.
We’re sharing the information early so you have plenty of time to check your eligibility and plan ahead.

Eligible patients have already been sent a booking link by text message, which can be used to select an appointment time.
If you have received an invitation, we encourage you to book your appointment in advance and get protected ahead of the winter months.

The NHS flu vaccination programme has different start dates for different groups.

The adult programme starts in October so that protection is strongest during the period when flu is usually circulating most heavily.
Eligibility is different for each vaccination, so being eligible for one does not necessarily mean you will be eligible for all three.

This table is a quick guide only. Your individual eligibility may depend on your medical history, medication or other circumstances.
The autumn 2026 COVID-19 vaccination programme is more targeted than the flu programme, it is being offered to:
COVID-19 vaccinations will be offered from October 2026.
The NHS will contact you directly if you are eligible to book or alternatively, check with your local pharmacy. Please note that COVID-19 vaccines are not provided by Premier Medical Centre.
RSV, or Respiratory Syncytial Virus, is a common respiratory virus. For many people it causes mild cold-like symptoms, but it can cause more serious illness in older adults, babies and people with certain health conditions.
From 1st September 2026, the NHS RSV vaccination programme has expanded to include some additional patients aged 65 to 74 years.
A chronic respiratory condition, including conditions such as:

A weakened immune system due to a medical condition or treatment.
This can include some people receiving immunosuppressive treatments, certain long-term steroid treatments, and people with conditions such as leukaemia, lymphoma or myeloma.
The RSV vaccine is also offered to:
Unlike the seasonal flu programme, the RSV vaccination programme operates all year round.
For older adults, RSV vaccination is currently given as a single dose. If you have previously received your RSV vaccination through the NHS older adult programme, you do not currently need another dose.
We know that the eligibility criteria for flu, COVID-19 and RSV can feel a little confusing.
We will contact eligible patients where appropriate, so please keep an eye on your text messages and NHS App notifications.
Your eligibility can depend on your age, medical conditions, medications or pregnancy, so members of the same household may receive different invitations.
