The Uni Doctor is an NHS GP service for students at Middlesex University, Hendon, run by Premier Medical Centre and designed around student life.
Since September 2022, we have been providing healthcare on campus in partnership with Middlesex University. Students receive the same high standard of NHS care as at our Wembley practice, with services designed to fit around university life, busy timetables, exams and time away from home.

How do I register with the practice as a student?
You can register online using our Registration page in just a few minutes. You do not need proof of address or identity. Once your registration has been processed, NHS England will transfer your medical records to Premier Medical Centre and confirm your registration.
Do I need to register with a GP while at university?
Yes. If you spend most of the year at university, you should register with a GP near your university. This ensures you can access healthcare quickly whenever you need it, especially if you have a long-term condition.
Can international students register?
Yes. Our registration is open to all students, including international students.* Registration is quick and simple, with no paperwork required. You do not need to already have an NHS number; we can arrange this for you as part of the registration process.
How do I book an appointment?
You can book urgent on-the-day and routine appointments through our Blinx Digital Front Door, by telephone or by contacting reception.
What healthcare services are available for students?
We provide a wide range of NHS services, including:

How do I request repeat medication or a sick note?
Repeat prescriptions can be requested through the NHS App or our Blinx Digital Front Door. If you need a Fit Note (sick note), please book an appointment with one of our clinicians.
What vaccinations do I need as a student?
We recommend students are up to date with:
MenACWY (recommended for first-time university students under 25)
MMR (two doses)
Flu vaccine (if eligible)

How can I access contraception and sexual health services?
We offer confidential advice and support, including contraception, STI testing, emergency contraception, pregnancy advice and sexual health services.
What should I do if I need urgent medical help?
If you need urgent medical advice when the practice is closed, contact NHS 111. In a life-threatening emergency, call 999.
Are NHS services free for students?
Yes. Students registered with the practice can access a wide range of free NHS services, including GP appointments, Healthcare Assistant appointments, blood tests, vaccinations, mental health support, sexual health services and routine NHS care. Some services, such as prescriptions, may incur the standard NHS charge unless you are exempt.
